My time in the social service sector began when I started volunteering in high school, ever since, developing a passion for voluntary work, and becoming more curious about what goes on behind the scenes in the social service sector. I looked for a course to pursue to learn more about these. Now that I am in my third year of study in the Diploma of Community Development, I had the opportunity to learn about and participate in sector-related processes. Many of them have helped hone my project management, analytical research, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.Among the projects I participated in are fundraising events, social integration programmes, outreach programmes, and attachments with case and volunteer management offices. However, I do hope to have the chance to be exposed more to working with different beneficiaries and finding out more about their social needs so that one by one, these lives will be transformed to become agents of change themselves.
