I was fresh out of college when I cold-called my way into my first job. I joined a national promotional products company where I assisted a large team of Account Executives by helping them service their clients and build their business while I dreamt of building my own. A year later I made the first of several large leaps and went from a salaried Account Coordinator to a full-time commissioned Account Executive for a reputable Boston based promotional products company. I spent the next several years pitching and closing business that extended well beyond products and even by today’s standards would push the capabilities and limits of any good size promotional agency. In 1998 I started Atomic Marketing amidst the technology boom and dotcom craze. Atomic was right in the thick of it, helping name companies, create brand identities, design sales kits and materials, build websites and get people to tradeshows and events to show off new products and services. We were one of the first agencies to build websites using Macromedia Flash animation and to manage client projects through an extranet. My dream had taken form. Fast forward a few years, feverishly fast growth and a market crash later and HGX Creative was born. Built on my integrated marketing model, I leveraged what I learned during the rise and fall of the dotcom craze and set a course for longevity. HGX is now a renowned, integrated marketing and promotions agency that continues to evolve with the times. Today, there’s a lot more ground to cover to help our clients compete. Showcasing features and benefits takes a back seat to making lifestyle and emotional connections; crafting brand stories precedes developing visual identities; and our multi-media campaigns stretch far beyond print and web. But the core of what we stand for remains the same - an unwavering commitment to deliver on the highest levels of quality, service, creativity, relationships and results.
