I produced the first all female game jam in the UK, maybe the world! • Bristol Games Hub
    Co-Founder
Bristol Games Hub Jan 2013 - Jun 2016
    Stokes Croft, Bristol, Uk
Bristol Games Hub was set up in Feb 2013 to support and grow Bristol and the South West's game development community. The Hub is non-profit, providing low cost desk space and shared resources, training events, talks, workshops and socials for game devs. They run a monthly newsletter, facebook group for the community to talk to each other and more recently South West Game Dev Jobs facebook group where jobs are advertised for free. The Hub currently has 48 resident game devs under one roof, a good mix of freelancers, start-ups and more established studios, aswell as a number of recent grads, working on all sorts of game projects. Many dynamic collaborations are happening between the residents and the community is growing daily with more than 600 SW based devs on the fb group and newsletter. So aswell as the office, the Hub community is the central place for all games developers to get involved in what's happening in the South West. They post job and funding opportunities, celebrate releases, run monthly socials with opportunities to show games at Beta stage and get the community's feedback and a monthly Unity group for people that want to learn more about this tool or share their knowledge. Its a great way to make contacts in the industry and show people what you can do. There is also a games marketing group. Contact Nina at aurochdigital.com for availability or more information.'I achieved more in my first day at the Hub than I did in 2 years working from home.” Peter Simon, Hub Residentwww.bristolgameshub.com#bristolgameshubBristol Games Hub fb group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/bristolgamejam/South West Game Dev Jobs fb group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/719197258116493/
  • Bristol 2015 Green Capital Digital Challenge
    Producer
Bristol 2015 Green Capital Digital Challenge Sep 2014 - Apr 2015
    Bristol, United Kingdom
I had the wonderful opportunity to produce the European Green Capital Digital Challenge, a competition for the best app/game developed around 5 environmental challenge areas; food, transport, energy, resources and nature. The competition essentially was to find solutions to some of the problems facing our cities now and in the long-term, and culminated in a 48 hour hack where 6 teams were shortlisted to develop their ideas with a pot of £5k each, to take a working prototype to the final pitching and awards ceremony as part of International Youth Day at Colston Hall, Bristol on 20th April. And the winner of the overall competition with a prize of £50,000 is.... Crocodile! The People's Choice Award winner of £10,000 is Future City Simulator. Every team put their heart and soul into the competition producing amazing apps/games around the brief so they're all winners imho.
