I’m an experienced surgical assistant with over 29 years experience and proficiency in most all surgical procedures, with a special emphasis in orthopedic sports medicine surgery as well as plastic and reconstructive surgery. I have worked in the main OR of multiple Hampton Roads area hospitals as well as in OB doing C-Sections. I currently work independently for my own company, Beach Surgical Assistants of Virginia and am contracted at local surgery centers as well as private plastic surgery offices. I also have provided successful management skills leading a group of contracted surgical assistants, managing multiple surgical scheduling needs.In 2018 I organized and chaired the national NSAA Conference in Norfolk, Virginia. I also have participated as a committee member of the NSAA Academic Advisory Panel. In 2020 I was elected as a Member at Large on the Board of the National Surgical Assistant Association.July 1, 2020 I was appointed by the Governor of Virginia to the Advisory Board of Surgical Assistants for Licensure by the Board of Medicine. I served two years as the Chair of the Board.
