Working within a project team, in close collaboration with the CIO, IST directors and other University representatives, performed a current-state assessment and aided the development of a high-level PBR model. Deliverables included information workbooks for collection of current-state information (including skill self-assessments), a what-we-heard report on the current state, PBR organizational design options, and high-level descriptions of roles and responsibilities.Information Services and Technology, U of M - Enterprise IT Governance, Phase 1As a Business Consultant, assisted Information Services and Technology (IST) with the development and implementation of an enterprise IT governance model to enable and support a transformation of the enterprise-wide IT function at the University of Manitoba. In collaboration with the CIO, worked with the Executive Governance Advisor to assess the alignment of IT committees’ roles with the emerging IT Transformation plan, and conceptually developed the new governance model. General insurance office - Operational Effectiveness and Resource PlanningWorking with the business owner, developed a long term strategy for the business operations. Business process re-engineering techniques were used to identify and address business inefficiencies as well as capitalize on business opportunities. Workforce analytics were applied to determine staff levels, applicability of part-time work, and division of work. Workforce certification and job level qualifications, training requirements for continued industry certification, and career development were documented. A road map to facilitate changes to the organization structure, staffing model and business processes over the next three years was delivered. Leading Canadian life and health insurance organization - Quality Assurance Operational Effectiveness ReviewAssisted the CIO and Senior IT Executives in conducting an assessment of their Quality Assurance department. The assessment focused on four main areas: QA staffing, testing environment, SDLC environment and organizational challenges. The assessment engaged key staff and leaders in a 360 degree review of processes, practices and tools. Developed a professional development strategy, and defined the process and templates for deployment to all staff. Tailored an assessment tool for a specific role to assess staff skills, experience and career aspirations, and to facilitate the consistent alignment and assignment of staff to the appropriate level within the new role. With a focus on organization effectiveness, revised existing and defined new policies and processes to meet operational needs in close collaboration with corporate areas as well as impacted areas. Revamped the eligibility and evaluation of two bonus programs to be more inclusive and address equity issues.
