The Leadership Centre works to strengthen leadership across services, using Systems Leadership approaches to tackle large-scale issues in service delivery, particularly around health and social care, but also encompassing housing, justice and welfare. There are currently 27 Systems Leadership pilot programmes, supported by the Department of Health and other funders, around the country, which are overseen by the Leadership Centre. We are currently in the process of taking applications for more programmes. I have joined in order to knit together the components of the programme; to build the evidence base and collate the achievements of, and learning from, the Systems Leadership and allied programmes; to help broaden the reach and profile of Systems Leadership across public services, communities and sectors; and to make the case - qualitative and quantitative - for Systems Leadership to show how it can improve outcomes for citizens and communities. We want to embed Systems Leadership in the wider systems of health, care and well-being, so that we can have viable, sustainable and integrated services in line with the ambitions set out in the Care Act.

Octavia is one of the oldest-established housing organisations in the UK, with a history that originates with properties acquired in 1865 by Octavia Hill, the Victorian social pioneer whose original ambition - to make "lives noble, homes happy and family life good" - remains at the heart of the organisation's mission today.

Built the National Skills Academy into one of the largest membership bodies in adult social care, reaching thousands of care homes and home care services across the country, alongside over 1300 individual Registered Manager members. Developed the Skills Academy into the key organisation in social care working strengthening the theory and practice of leadership across the sector, through producing a suite of leadership development programmes for people working at all levels and across communities; developing The Leadership Qualities Framework for Adult Social Care, a guide to good leadership in the sector, alongside a leadership strategy, 'Leadership Starts with Me'; overseeing an Endorsement Framework for high quality social care learning and development providers; and establishing a national programme of support for Registered Managers.

East Thames Group is a major RSL with around 14,000 homes in East London and Essex. Its mission is to make a positive and lasting contribution to the neighbourhoods in which it works. I am also a Board Member of East Foundation, the Group's grant-giving arm.

People Can (formerly Novas Scarman Group) is a major social justice charity aiming to tackle social disadvantage. The Group was formed in 1998 through the merger of Novas Group, the Scarman Trust and PATH National, which aims to promote BAME presence within built environment and other professions. Novas Scarman works at local level to help people recovering from drug and alcohol addiction, people who are homeless, or people caught up in domestic violence. The Group also helps people get involved with local decision-making and increase their influence around the provision of health services and other services.

The Voluntary and Community Sector Partnership Board provides advice to DCLG on key issues likely to affect the sector, centring on DCLG specialist areas including housing, regeneration, deprived communities and community cohesion.

The National Skills Academy for Social Care is the newest member of the National Skills Academy network, having been launched in October 2009, and is the first Academy in the welfare sector. The Academy aims to drive up standards in adult social care through enabling and promoting skills development, supporting learning and training, promoting leadership and management, and championing the sector as a whole. The role of Head of New Business and Membership Services involves developing, building and managing valid and relevant member services; managing customer and stakeholder relationships; and identifying new business opportunities for the Academy.

The RTPI is the membership organisation for chartered town and country planners in the UK, with c. 22,000 members: one of the largest planning institutes in the world. Responsible for all services to members and to the general public, working with government and stakeholders in the UK and overseas.
