QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) is a simple and effective approach to suicide prevention that anyone can learn to use. Over 5,000,000 people worldwide have undertaken QPR Gatekeeper training. Like first aid, QPR is not a form of counselling or treatment. It is a way to keep suicidal people safe until the right support is available and, because of this, anyone can learn it.The purpose of QPR Gatekeeper training is to allow anyone to save a life, just like those trained in CPR and First Aid. Gatekeepers can be HR professionals; line managers; teachers; guide or scout leaders; admin and reception staff in therapy and medical centres; friends and relatives of those with mental health conditions.
