I have a wide range of experience working with children. Beginning in Family Daycare in New Zealand I have worked casually in centres and schools across Brisbane, Melbourne, and East Gippsland. I have held permanent roles in inclusion support, as a room leader, kindergarten assistant and also a trainer and assessor for early childhood students at cert 3 and diploma levels. I love supporting earth-friendly play. I grew up in rural New Zealand where kids could be free to play in the bush. We made cubby houses, dammed streams, and played largely outside.Not all centres can offer large natural environments but natural elements can always be included. I believe including children in nature from an early age is important for well-being, healthy child development and the planet.
