CWGCS seeks to deepen and broaden political access, economic opportunities and social inclusion for women by strengthening the capacity of government, nonprofit and business sectors to implement gender-responsive, inclusive and equitable policies, practices and services.

The Center for the Elimination of Minority Health Disparities (CEMHD) is a collaborative effort that focuses on eliminating health disparities by developing capacity in faculty at the University at Albany and partnering with community groups to identify their health concerns and the sources of disparities, and then plan, implement and test strategies to alleviate them. CEMHD is a partnership among community groups, hospitals, state and county health departments, the State of New York and the University at Albany.

UAlbany in the High School allows qualified students to earn college credit while still in high school. As a bridging experience to college, UHS courses can help students begin to develop the skills and experience necessary for academic success in higher education.

The College of Arts and Sciences encourages long-term, high-impact involvement in public engagement efforts. The College features public engagement as a central component for research, teaching, and service initiatives. By providing opportunities to serve, leadership training, and mentoring, Leaders In Service (LIS) strives to spark and nurture in students a long-term commitment to service. LIS has partnered with human service agencies and nonprofits to aid individuals in need, including Habitat for Humanity, the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY, the Center for Disability Services, Meals on Wheels, the Police Athletic League, Girls, Inc., Make-A-Wish, Ronald McDonald House, and Operation Crossroads Africa.

The Continual Improvement Project, now known as Service Outcomes Action Research (SOAR), is a long-term research-practice partnership with two Albany-area juvenile residential treatment centers and the Hindelang Criminal Justice Research Center.

The Southern Center for Studies in Public Policy (SCSPP) of Clark Atlanta University was created in 1968 as a teaching and community outreach organization. The goal of the SCSPP is to seek ways to improve the relative economic, educational, political and social position of disadvantaged people principally through its programs and research.
