As IMFA Member Services Director, created multifunctional opportunities for members to promote the molded fiber industry internationally; attained through affiliated industry processes, technology, marketing, applications, and education. Developed business partnerships with molded fiber manufacturers and affiliated members, through campaigning, member services, database management, and a yearly International Seminar. Managed industry intelligence, databases, and all potential/new member correspondence. Planned, developed, and instituted an international campaign that increased membership by 80% in less than 6 months. As a team member, facilitated and collaborated Seminar promotion, databases, acquisition of speakers, and conference activities. As a guest lecturer to packaging students at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, taught industry knowledge, promoted awareness, and encouraged next generation participation.

Expanding upon my career in marketing and design, became a certified Art & Design, and Visual Arts teacher. Utilizing my design and management background, I created curriculum and taught content to help students to creatively problem solve for real world applications. Proficient in studio foundations of visual arts and all aspects of art and design; I have teaching experience at all grade levels K-12. Also held an ESR-trained student advisory role at a design, engineering, arts & sciences charter school. Earned State of WI Certification 550 License.

Interim marketing and sales positions for Food Marketing Services, Great Lakes Packaging, Smirfit Stone Container, and Duni Corporation, AB, have been interspersed with my life as a designer and consultant for The Gilbertson Group. All positions have given me the opportunity to further my industry expertise in marketing, sales and packaging.As a product manager at Duni, I was responsible for $29 million dollars of mass-market tabletop paper products which represented 98% of Duni’s core business. Also developed a new catalog business that met Duni’s product mix and financial goals. While with Smirfit Stone Container I was responsible for $1.5 million dollars in a then new printing format, Preprinted Linerboard. I worked directly with Panasonic introducing them to new packaging both graphically and structurally for better performance. The packaging received a Flexographic Technical Association Award in Preprinted Linerboard.As their Marketing Director at Food Marketing Services, I managed marketing communications with national accounts including all trade functions for distributor campaigns. I built customer relationships with product managers and distributors, resulting in increased product lines and budgets.At Sargento, Inc. and Masters Gallery Foods I began my passion for creating my best work. I was a critical member of a cross-functional team for Sargento’s aggressive, innovative, 2 year- exclusive, Zip-Pak flexible packaging conversion with Dow Chemical. My project involvement included managing all packaging technical specifications with engineering, graphics, and the print conversion for the entire Sargento product line and the corporate identity program. It won a Milwaukee Advertising Club Addy award; as well as, a national Package Design Council Gold Award.
