Profile bio

About Deborah Grey Cic

With over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, I am a product development specialist at Obsidian Insurance Holdings, Inc., where I work closely with MGAs and program managers on the creation and launch of new programs. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and am currently pursuing my JD Masters degree in risk management and compliance, which enable me to review, revise, and draft policy forms that meet the needs of the market and the regulatory standards. My passion is finding gaps in coverage, mitigating and eliminating risk, and enhancing customer centricity and profitability. I have expertise in insurtech, technical understanding, new business development, and contract analysis. I have also worked as a corporate risk manager and an underwriter, both domestically and internationally, in various lines of business, including CGL, property, Professional Liability, Management Liability, Cyber Liability, D&O, and work comp. I enjoy educating and mentoring others, challenging the status quo, and becoming a subject matter expert in my field. My work passions are finding solutions to difficult problems; continuous learning to satisfy my spirit of intellectual inquiry. When I was 5 years old, I took a spoon from our kitchen and dug up pretty shiny rocks and then went door to door selling them until a cranky neighbor had words with my mom who made me stop. I was a natural entrepreneur even back then. From 2nd grade through 4th grade, I would come home from school and line up my stuffed animals and dolls and play teacher. I tried it a few times with friends and they were like we are out of school and we want to play. I was a natural educator even back then.

Listed skills include Insurance, Underwriting, Commercial Insurance, Property And Casualty Insurance, and 44 others.
