Manage 20 classrooms of 19-25 students during assigned teacher's absence, implementing objectives, assessing student performance while preparing them for EOY testing. Devise and present lesson plans aligned with district and state standards, giving students opportunities to create, perform and respond to music. Utilize Kodaly and Orff strategies to teach elements of music through singing and playing recorders, ukuleles and barred instruments. Support school goals and colleagues by enthusiastically ensuring Dance Week success, assisting PE teacher and artist-in-residence, requiring students to write a response to highlight learning.

A top-notch music teacher, I create an enjoyable learning environment to inspire young minds and help them grow in appreciation of music. I provide quality choral/instrumental music instruction based on Kodaly and Orff strategies to approximately 700 students per week, Kindergarten through 5th grade in 45-minute class sessions. I effectively incorporate state & national guidelines in my curriculum so my students can master music theory as they sing or play musical instruments, respond to music through movement and creative arts read & write music, connect music to their own experiences and other curriculum areas, build musical repertoire, perform solo, or small & large group settings, experience success on exams.I am skilled in piano, voice, organ; experienced in solo work, choral groups and string orchestra (cello); trained in Kodaly and Orff approaches including recorder & rhythm instruments.
