Data analyst qualitative consultant, May 2020 – PresentUniversity of Miami, Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine.• Analyze large focus group and interview data to develop themes and assist with creating hypotheses related to volunteer, Black, wildland firefighters.• Much of the initial data collection was from a global population; thus, culture was/is an important component in analyzing and reporting data. • Assisted medical doctors and epidemiologists to recognize unique barriers encountered by Black firefighters and helped consider options to increase safety and health awareness. Presented this information to epidemiologists and medical doctors at a national conference. • This project is always evolving; therefore it is critical to prioritize and focus on time-management. Specific tasks are urgent and being focused on deadlines and final reports/products is imperative. Also:Data analyst and qualitative consultant, 2015- 2019 Window of Clarity, Reynolds Defense Firm, Portland, OR• Leader of a multidisciplinary team, planned and executed a research plan that employed mixed methodology to develop, create, and validate an intervention for people involved in the legal system. • Preliminary work required generative testing and iteratives of product. Contextual inquiries, interviews, were used to gain insights as were daily diaries • Conducted semi structed interviews, validated measures, generative and evaluative research, empathy mapping, and addressed any pain points in a timely manner. • Leadership, collaboration, and time management were key with so many stakeholders involved (e.g., judges, lawyers, assistants, therapists, clients.)

Complete program evaluations of community workshops and conferences for PEDI, which promotes education for employers and the community at-large regarding the benefits of drug-free workplaces. Specifically, execute human subjects review applications; analyze evaluation data using multivariate, exploratory, and confirmatory analysis techniques; present written and oral summary of results to community members. Manage online inquiries from community members about organization and workshops.

- Trained and supervised undergraduate research assistants on all aspects of multiple data collections including protocol development, recruitment, participant screening and interviewing, and data cleaning; starting in 2005, also managed other graduate research assistant activities. - Studies include qualitative and quantitative social health studies of college students and adult community members in the U.S. and internationally (e.g., Iran, Jordan, Germany). - Methodologies employed include focus group methods, paper-and-pencil surveys, and random telephone surveys. - Responsible for management of data cleaning and execution of data analysis employing qualitative, multivariate and confirmatory factor analysis techniques. - Coordinate efforts among local and international collaborators.

Project Manager for NIH/NIAAA grant. Worked with PI to implement study protocol to achieve study aims, with responsibilities ranging from creation of study measures, participant tracking systems, disbursement of participant compensation, correspondence with participants and supervising undergraduate and graduate research assistants. In addition, participated in cleaning and preparing data to be analyzed. Conducted multivariate and multilevel modeling analyses. Assisted in the preparation of a formal report for NIH/NIAAA.

Collaborated with a sophisticated team of researchers on various health-related projects. Used Excel and SPSS to code and analyze large-scale statewide data sets. Recruited participants and participated in group planning with OHSU and Johns Hopkins University. Prepared data for presentations; troubleshooting complicated data sets. In addition, prepared and participated in a cost analysis, as well as conducted multilevel longitudinal data analyses. Data included highly sensitive health records and information. Analyzed and examined confidential health records; HIPPA trained and certified at OHSU and Johns Hopkins.
