Current•Responsible for specifying, designing and implementing the Front Panel embedded software module for the company’s new HF manpack radio project. Wrote the UI specification, created the high level design documents and implemented the application front panel controller module and low-level LCD driver code, well within project time constraints. Controller software was developed in C++, driver code in C for an MQX/Coldfire target.•Developed application and user interface code for the purpose of displaying SMS (short message service) text messages on screen of the VHF tactical radio's LCD screen. This new feature implementation was critical in meeting the phase two requirements of a multi-million dollar contract.•Developed application code to resolve standard NMEA sentences from the onboard GPS receiver, for the purpose of sending and displaying OTA (over-the-air) messages on the VHF tactical radio’s front panel.•Implemented new features as required to the front panel module, performed system bug identification and resolution for company’s HF base station radio. Programming language used was C++. •Developed new user interface code to allow control of a Selective Calling feature in the VHF tactical radio. Implemented using C for a VxWorks/PowerPC target.
