Promote and nurture excellence in arts programming districtwide in BHUSD. Engineered the team procedures, managed the development and wrote the updated 2015-2019 BHUSD BeverlyARTS! Strategic Arts Plan, BOE approved in April 2015. Also ushered in the 2011-2014 BHUSD Arts Education Plan (AEP). BOE approved update in June 2011. Determine and conduct professional development in the Arts in accordance with our AEP. Recently received an LACAC/Arts for All grant to create an Arts Professional Development Plan with TCAP (The California Arts Plan) to begin summer of 2012 through 2014. Review opportunities to integrate the arts throughout the district. Currently established a collaboration with the Armory for the Arts and BHUSD for our 3rd grade generalist teachers to begin 2012-2013.

Created the Graphic Design program at BHHS in 2002. Courses taught: Graphic Design, Visual Communication Design, AP Art History. Courses are sequential, standards based and utilize a blended on-line learning management system: Schoology.com. mrs joseph art & design classes consist of Design, Technical Art courses taught on Mac Platform with an emphasis on new media design and typography. Applications include: Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Muse, After Effects. Hype3. Technical Art Department Chair 2005 - 09; Yearbook Adviser 2004 -08; WASC committee chair 2002-04. Member of district “Arts for All” model arts program planning committee.

Worked with TCAP as a participant in a Curriculum Design Institute; as member in the Curriculum Design Leadership Institute; as a Teacher Leader for various short term teacher development capacity building engagements and as a Curriculum Design Cohort Leader.

Art 486 – studio problems teaching art; Art 380 – children’s art; Art 100 – art processes for non-art majors; Art 140 – 2-dimensional design. Developed a service-learning curriculum integrating CSUN freshmen and the 4th and 5th grade classes at Cantara Elementary, Reseda, CA.

Established a novel clothing line for boys and girls from infant to size 7. Responsible for designing, developing and merchandising the product line. Designed marketing strategy, researched market trends, oversaw trade shows, implemented print advertising, oversaw photo shoots, managed flow of production, staff, outside contractors and directed six national sales reps.

Directed operations for 100 person advertising agency. Managed department of 15 persons. Member of executive management team. Responsible for implementing policies on human resources and company events. Point Person: Canvasing available office space, negotiating terms and office relocation for agency.
