My research in support of a Master of Arts in th eEnvironmental Education and Communication program focuses on how mindfulness and empathy skill building can cultivate connection with nature, process climate emotions (eg.eco-anxiety), enhance pro-environmental behaviours, and deepen ecological identity.

Reconciliation and Regenerative Innovation Graduate Course* Provided onsite and technical assistance to professor and international students from over 20 countries. * Course content focused on the importance of reconciliation with Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and Metis communities) of Canada, briefly examined some of the revisionist stories and exclusion of Canada’s First Peoples in the Canadian landscape. * Examined how and in what ways Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and Metis) worldviews and values can be compared and contrasted with conventional knowledge systems. * Explored the critical intersectionality between Indigenous ways of knowing and ways of being with the broader reconciliation of ecological, social, and economic imperatives leading to collaborative regenerative sustainability and regenerative innovations.

• Provided promotional and educational services in the form of digital marketing, public relations, and special event production focused on sustainability and health for 500 businesses and NGOs• Clients included Nature's Path Foods, Level Ground Trading, B Corps (Benefit Corporations), The Trust for Sustainable Forestry, national hearing-health retailer, and conservation community developer• Produced six annual two-day, solar-powered, near zero-waste organic festival/sustainability expo that attracted 20,000 attendees to learn about 400+ green businesses and sustainability initiatives; this community-based event helped grow the green business sector on Southern Vancouver Island. (Recognized with the EcoStar Award for Community Environmental Leader in Capital Regional District)• Produced an annual green business directory (print/digital), website, media releases, blogs, newsletters, brochures, programs, advertisements, displays and social media content • Developed and implemented communications, marketing and public relations campaigns for clients and sponsors that generated national media exposure and inspired a CHEK-TV series• Conducted market research and produced 150-page business case that generated funding from the federal government’s self-employment program to launch a small business

• Advanced the education and promotion of conservation communities designed to protect forests and support sustainable eco-forestry by the people who live, work and play in them• Organized promotional events, open houses, delivered public presentations and conducted onsite tours for groups and individuals of the Elkington Forest conservation community• Developed a special educational outreach event "The Big Tree Festival" that inspired youth, community and activists who participated in forest research and measured old-growth trees for their inclusion in B.C.'s Big Tree Registry; attracted more visitors to the Elkington Forest on one day than seen previously the entire previous year• Co-developed and coordinated marketing campaigns to increase visibility of sustainably built real estate in conversation communities, defined the target market and determined placement of print/digital advertising• Managed website redesign and in-bound email marketing in conjunction with Google ad words and social media advertising that resulted in 30 percent increase in web traffic• Produced newsletters, blogs, advertisements, press releases, radio commercial, brochures, signage, and curated social media on Twitter and Facebook
