Oregon STEM is committed to identifying and addressing systemic social, educational, and economic barriers by reaching, connecting, engaging, and championing underrepresented youth and educators throughout Oregon to increase their visibility, participation, and sense of belonging in STEAM, support their success and representation, and create a diverse culture of equitable prosperity. Oregon STEM works to shift perceptions of STEAM in education and industry. We collectively address the management of statewide efforts for communication and advocacy, data and evaluation, and community engagement, relying on individual Hubs within the Oregon STEM Hub network to lead regional initiatives and build local partnerships through collective impact. As a new organization, Oregon STEM will focus on strategic statewide leadership; the development of partnerships among business and education; advocacy and resource development; and coordination of strategic priorities across the PreK-20 education continuum.

Advised nonprofits in strengthening their organizational position by identifying priorities that align to mission and vision while meeting the needs of the surrounding community. Focus areas consist of identifying and aligning strategic priorities, designing a funding roadmap and implementation plan to achieve key outcomes. This work entails gathering input from stakeholders, synthesizing perceptions, identifying needs, evaluating current capacity, and articulating a clear value proposition that guides the organization. Documentation of the strategic plan via reports and visual collateral that clearly articulate priorities, a roadmap to implementation to ensure clear communication for alignment within the organization and with key external partners.

Led strategic priorities focusing on reimagining the museum of the future, where the art of research, design, and technology amalgamate resulting in accessible hands-on experiences that engage, educate and encourage guests to innovate solutions. Developed data driven models that optimized program delivery, resulting in increased student reach and revenues by 34% without increasing prices. Identified gaps in K-5 science education offerings and positioned OMSI to deepen their relationship with formal education. Responsible for 21 large projects, funded by NSF, NIH, NASA and corporate sponsors, spanning the museum experience, education programming, camps, classes, outdoor school, research, exhibit creation and sales.

Launched a new university department that ensured student success both academically and professionally. Created collaborations with industry and nonprofits to develop their future workforce through internships and experiential learning opportunities. Managed a team of academic and career professionals who coach students to initiate the next steps toward their future goals that lead to an exceptional life outcome. Orchestrated the implementation of programming, processes and experiences with faculty and external partners.

Co-founder of the South Metro-Salem Partnership. Convened stakeholders from education, industry, policy and NGO's to create a collaborative organization focused on increasing STEM aptitudes in the K-20 sector. Assessed and created frameworks that best utilized resources from partners and aligned goals. Identified and recruited board members and general partnership members. Met with regional K-12 Superintendents, community colleges, and business leaders to listen, inform and integrate into the partnership. Procured funding and recruitment of an Executive Director.

Grew FIRST robotics programs in the PNW from less than 2,000 students in 2007 to 30,000+ by 2010. Established executive level relationships with industry sponsors by focusing on workforce development goals that positioned industry employees as mentors to students resulting in career pathway networks. Engaged state legislators to sponsor and pass bills to fund informal STEM education programs, ensuring equity goals and rural school sustainability. Recruited and managed executive level boards. Collaborated with university systems to establish a cohesive student trajectory through P-20 that included a $50M college scholarship fund.

Established relationships with inner-city high school counselors to build pathways for underserved, first generation college students to support college success. Collaborated with department chairs and faculty for scholarship awards.

Identified needs and developed ministry outreach programs in service to the community to include homeless shelter programming for youth. Implemented diversity training for volunteers. Wrote curriculum for children's summer camp programs, trained and motivated volunteers to become engaging educators.

Recruited mid to high-level finance and accounting professionals for permanent job placements. Established industry relationships across banking, finance, insurance, and manufacturing industries. Grew portfolio of clients by creating a comprehensive marketing plan around a new concept of temporary accounting services.

Direct sales to large corporate and multi-chain retail accounts. Developed sales training modules and large training events. Pitched marketing campaigns in metro markets. Created and purchased multi-media advertising plans for metro markets.
