About Deb Murdoch

I have worked as a learning analyst, assessment design coordinator, educational designer, educational technologist and Academic Lead on a student transition and retention program. I have promoted interactive learning online through the development of planned resources and learning processes to engage student interest and promote deep learning. I achieved a role in Assessment Quality to continue to improve the student experience through assessment I am continuing learning in Curriculum Mapping.I have 30 years teaching experience in both school and industry to draw upon to assist in the development of learning resources and environments. I encourage the use of constructive alignment and criterion referenced assessment to provide better support and improved learning to transition students to the tertiary environment. My role developed from a focus on assessment quality and improved communication to students. Developing academic skills and knowledge about quality assessment and criteria for achievement has been an integral part of my roles over the past few years and this role extends that focus. I have strong interest in learning analytics in learning processes and teaching and currently utilise analytical skills in developing a planned approach to degree design to ensure opportunities for deep learning throughout the degree. I incorporate assessment design from a holistic perspective of the course to integrate balanced authentic assessment. My PhD is looking at more efficient ways of mapping and planning university curriculum.
