I have been working as a molecular biologist for 24 + years now. I started out in 1986 as an internship at the National Cancer Institute at Fort Detrick , Frederick Md and currently work for The Southern Research Institute, 431 Aviation Way, Frederick Md as a Biologist. I have enjoyed many years of working with the best scientific minds through the United States Military while I worked at the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine and the US World HIV Program. My research has taken me to work as a guest researcher for numberous companies to learn innovative techniques and take the knowledge back to teach my colleagues at HMJ. I have 13 publications under my name and have strived to help people fight against HIV, Small Pox, Vaccinia, Influenza. My challenges have been accomplished when I developed and characterized my own infectious molecular clone of Clade E & B of the HIV virus.Specialties: DNA Sequencing, Tap Alleles experiments for The Red Cross, DNA, RNA, Cloning, Taqman Real Time PCR, Viral Burden Assays, Extraction methods, DNA purification, Plasmid Characterization, Vector preparation -munipulation, Restriction Digestion, Gene Expression, P24 Assays, Elisa's, EMSA Gels, Single Strand Confirmation Polymorphism gel assays - Human Luekocyte Antigen typing. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for 6 months as a guest researcher while working for HMJ.
