About Deborah Bapt
Deborah Bapt is a Brazilian writer, director and Drama teacher based in Rio de Janeiro. In Los Angeles, she worked for CAP at UCLA, at the Crest Theater an at the distribution film company Strand Releasing. Back to Brazil, she wrote and directed several musicals starring chamber and philharmonic orchestras, mixing classical music and other art forms. Bapt has been producing content for theater, film and television since her first award as a writer in 2007. She has also worked as an assistant director in Los Angeles and in Brazilian TV series such as "O Som e o Tempo" from Canal Brasil and "Questão de Família" from GNT. As a multidisciplinary artist, she has extensive experience as a voice actor working on everything from video games and commercials to cartoons and audiobooks. Bapt teaches Drama at Eleva Educação and at The British School, in Rio de Janeiro.Especialista em TV e Cinema pela UCLA, com foco em Roteiro e Direção e especialista em Gestão da Cultura pela UNESA; graduada em Licenciatura em Artes Cênicas pela UNI-RIO. Dedica-se à pesquisa de múltiplas linguagens, dirigindo e produzindo conteúdo para teatro, cinema e TV. É professora de teatro da Escola Britânica do Rio de Janeiro e responsável pelo Drama Club da Escola Eleva. Trabalha, ainda, como atriz nos principais estúdios do RJ com dublagem de filmes, séries, games e narração de audiolivros.Adaptou e dirigiu “O Mágico de Oz” estrelando a Orquestra Petrobrás Sinfônica e dubladores renomados. Com a OPES, também dirigiu “Os Saltimbancos Sinfônico”, cujo álbum foi vencedor do Prêmio da Música Brasileira em 2017. Também escreveu e dirigiu "O Maestro Provisório", musical com a orquestra de câmara Johann Sebastian Rio que mistura as linguagens de circo, música clássica e teatro. Vencedora do Prêmio SESC de novas linguagens cênicas com o monólogo “Sonho de Valsa n6”, seus espetáculos estiveram em cartaz no Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro, Cidade das Artes, Teatro Bradesco (atual Multiplan), Teatro Imperator e Teatro Riachuelo.Em TV e cinema trabalhou como assistente de direção nas séries "O Som e o Tempo" do Canal Brasil e "Questão de Família" da GNT. Também produziu e dirigiu mais de 10 curtas, sendo premiada pela Firjan com "Segunda no Parque" - exibido no Canal Brasil e em salas de cinema do RJ e de LA. Nos Estados Unidos, trabalhou no Center for the Art of Performance (UCLA), no Crest Theater e na distribuidora de filmes Strand Releasing.
