I am an Executive Mentor for the Disability Rights UK Leadership Academy where I support aspiring leaders with lived experience of disability or a long term health condition to gain career progression or explore new career aspirations.I lecture on person-centred healthcare, the importance of co-creation of services promoting and supporting self-management and the responsibilities of patients as owners of their own care. I am an active public speaker as an expert-by-experience and am involved in the delivery of clinical training to both qualified healthcare staff and those in training.I am passionate about equality, diversity, inclusion and human rights, particularly in the field of physical disability and mental ill health, tackling prejudice and stigma and as an advocate for other marginalised groups.
