CurrentPebbles came about after I had been made redundant from my teaching job due to budget cuts and James moved down from London. I was looking for a role that would allow me flexibility to spend time with my daughter who was doing her GCSEs at the time, and saw a gap in the market where we lived in Salcombe, a popular holiday destination, and the surrounding area, to offer a professional standard of housekeeping and caretaking for absent second home owners, particularly relating to changeovers on letting properties. We soon realised that there was demand to take the business further and offer a fully fledged property management service that caters for everything from housekeeping to emergency call outs and maintenance services, and gardening and later on extended into refurbishments as well. Together we have grown Pebbles by observing and anticipating the needs of the market. Nearly 20 years later, the company has more than 100 employees, offices in Salcombe as well as bases in Kingsbridge and East Cornwall, and we are a market leader offering services to clients across South Devon and East Cornwall. The relationships we have with our clients is one of the things I am most proud of at Pebbles. In an industry where relationships between property owners and management companies typically does not exceed three years, we have clients who have been with us for 15 years and counting.
