Responsible for the overall leadership of the Human Resources function at onsite rental group. Ensuring the Human Resources strategic plan aligns with the Companies overall vision, mission and values. Full generalist role reporting to the CEO with national scope including significant remote location coverage across over 30 sites, circa 400 employees.

Operational and strategic leadership of the human resources function in line with AWA’s vision, mission and strategic plan. Work with department heads to identify, develop and implement people solutions across a range of HR functions that aligns to the overall business objectives.

Led all HR activities throughout the South East Asia region and participated in quarterly business reviews of operating units. Partnered with subsidiary managing directors, regional executives and human resource leaders to ensure HR policies and programs supported and enhanced business strategies and objectives. Balance the need for consistent regional people management systems with the nuances of many different cultures and the challenge of disparate and volatile labour markets.

Responsible for developing and implementing compensation and benefit programs throughout the Asia Pacific region. Achievements: Development and implementation of a consistent job classification and remuneration broad-banding structure for the Asia Pacific Region. Reviewed and enhanced of sales commission plans in SE and North Asia, to support margin improvement business objectives. Management of annual regional salary planning and review cycles to bring appropriate balance between cost control and staff retention in volatile labour markets. Management of expatriate movements and compensation across the region and the development and implementation of regional relocation policies.

Reporting to the Managing Director, led all HR including payroll for the Australia/New Zealand operation. The primary responsibility was to align HR strategies with overall business objectives through close partnership with management and providing sound, timely advice and direction on HR issues in the business. Achievements: Part of the senior leadership team in management which developed the company’s five-year strategic plan. Key participant in the organisational structure and human capital review designed to re-energise the company for new product and market entry.  Introduced new reward and performance management systems to support drive for improved productivity levels. Supported the roll-out of the programs throughout the Asia/Pacific region. Developed and implemented new sales commission plans to support the drive into new markets. Led a review of sales commission plans throughout the Asia Pacific region.  Designed and implemented an innovative new occupational health and safety system covering all staff, management and contractor activities. Nominated as finalist as finalist in the National Safety Council awards for best national safety system. Implemented an organisational capability system to identify and fast-track high-potential employees and to accelerate improvement plans for lower-performing staff. Developed and implemented a comprehensive ANZ employee communication plan including quarterly all-staff briefings and a continuous “chats with the chief” program. Managed three annual salary planning cycles on time and in-budget.  Managed the company’s employee opinion survey process including employee feedback communication and management corrective action plans. Developed and managed the delivery of company training programs including technical, sales and personal business skills development
