My venture "Green Monkey Group" , was incubated and launched in 2021.The start-up is a joint venture with Old Folks Cann, LLC (OFC) to teach how to grow fresh herbs and food at home, for self healing and general well being.Its a pleasure for Old Folks Cann to teach Chicago State University's CORE Medical Cannabis and Hemp Certificate classes since 2019; and State of Illinois' first university medical cannabis and hemp instructor.Having lived in a Disproportionately Impacted Area (DIA) with unusually high arrests and rampant crime for over 30 years, I promote work force development and job based reentry for cannabis only arrests and first time ex felons. I'm also focused on K-12 education.In Illinois, urban education requires teachers and Substitutes who care about holistic learning."Indoor Cultivation: Home Growing" introduces urban backyard farmers to lead free indoor and outdoor micro farming and for self-care. Lead is pervasive in urban native soil and drinking water and effects our ability to learn while given rise to a myriad of mental health issues.OFC partnered with Green Monkey Group to design preassembled home growing kits for seniors and beginning backyard farmers.The easy, at home, cultivation courses guide growing, step by step, from seed to harvest and beyond.As a Quantum Reiki Master since 2012, my remote healing practice: Mind Balance Chicago, offers help to the sick;and assists anxiety, pain or insomnia sufferers.
