Tupperare is a $1B+ global manufacturer of consumer products for the home, distributing in 80 countries worldwide. I chaired several special committees, including a committee that appointed a Chief Restructuring Officer, hired several new restructuring board member experts, and appointed a new CEO. During that time, I was also a member of Compensation and Nom & Gov Committees. I joined the board knowing it was financially and operationally challenged, and assisted with the transition from "Tupperware Parties" into new distribution channels. I left the board in 2023 along with three other board members when we replaced ourselves with new board members with deep experience in financial restructuring, plus the new CEO. I am very proud to have been involved with this iconic brand, and will be a Tupperware fan forever.

iRobot designs and builds robots for the home - such as the Roomba vacuum cleaner, the Braava floor mopping robot, and smart mobile air filters for the home. iRobot's has an extensive patent portfolio including proprietary technologies for the connected home and advanced concepts in navigation, mobility, manipulation and artificial intelligence. I was Lead Independent Director (LID) during a three year period with activist engagement, and Chaired the Nom & Gov committee for most of my tenure. Our board was recognized for excellence in governance by the National Association of Corporate Directors in April 2018, when I was LID. I retired from the board after 12 years in 2023.

Covetrus is a $4Bn tech-enabled veterinarian services company, which was formed as a public company in February 2019 from the merger of Henry Schein Animal Health Division and Vets First Choice. I was Chair of Nominating and Governance Committee; member of Compensation Committee. I left the board when the company went private in October 2022.

Entrusted by two private equity firms, L Catterton and Charlesbank Partners, to take on roles as either President or CEO of their portfolio companies. Developed a fifteen year track record of growing sales, driving EBITDA, and building shareholder value through a combination of (a) digitizing DTC marketing and engagement (b) expanding go-to-market strategies and crossing channels where needed (c) developing online services and content, and (d) streamlining cost structure. Return on investment ranged from 3X to 9X, each in 2 to 4 years.I remain a Limited Partner in both L Catterton and Charlesbank funds, and provide ongoing assistance to them and their portfolio companies.- Ideal Image: largest Medspa chain in the US, with 130 centers and 2,000 employees- Princeton Review: international education services company with 5,000 teachers and tutors- Restoration Hardware: home product retailer with 100 stores, catalog, web- Wellness Petfood: largest all-natural pet food company, selling to 10,000 stores in the US and Canada

Interpublic is a $11Bn global advertising holding company, owning agencies and PR firms such as McCann, Lowe, FCB, Hill Holliday, and Weber Shandwick.I joined the board when an activist, Elliot Investment Management, insisted on new board members and some new committees. I was a candidate approved by both sides, and stayed on the board during the time that Elliot was invested in the company.

NLG is a financial services company with subsidiaries in life insurance and mutual funds; $30+ billion in assets under management.Joined the board in 2007, having been involved as an advisor to the board in the 1990s. Was on every committee at one time or another, and chaired Nominating and Governance. Left the board after 7 years due to the demands of my job at The Princeton Review, and travel conflicts.

Sealy is one of the largest bedding manufacturers in the world, with $1.2 billion in revenue, selling through 7,000 retail outlets.Joined the board in 2010 soon after it had gone public and KKR had reduced its stake below 50%. Left in 2014 when we sold the company to Tempur-pedic.

$200 million textile manufacturer known for Polartec fleece and military body armor.Joined the board when it emerged from bankruptcy in 2003, and helped bring a new CEO on board who restructured and stabilized the company. Left when the company was being sold to Versa Capital.

$100 billion retailer serving consumers through 6,000 stores, catalogs, and the web.Reported directly to the CEO. Led CVS.com, customer service, market research, strategy, and new business development. Improved the pharmacy operations through extensive process redesign; developed the strategy to acquire a Pharmacy Benefit Manager, and presented it to our board, which ultimately led to the acquisition of Caremark a few years later.

While also head of strategy and business development for CVS, I led CVS.com during its early days, with the General Manager reporting directly to me. We updated the go-to-market strategy, pricing structure, distribution network, and turned it profitable for the first time.

$20 billion international retailer of office supplies serving consumers and businesses through 1600 stores, catalogs, and the web.Reported directly to the CEO, as head of strategy. Led store redesign to improve sales comps; helped turn around international and contract divisions.
