About Deborah Etsenake

I’m a designer with a strong foundation in UI/UX, and my design approach is driven by simplicity, creativity, and clear messaging. While I’m actively pursuing work in UI/UX, I’m also deeply fascinated by symbolism in design—how it can communicate meaning and evoke emotions. My experience in retail management at Shoppers Drug Mart has been instrumental in shaping my design and professional skills. It sharpened my leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities, which I now integrate into my design process to create user-centered, value-driven solutions.Outside of work, my involvement in my church community has been both inspiring and educational. I create advertisement posters for events, which has allowed me to experiment with creative design strategies. My church is also a source of daily encouragement, reminding me of the power of community and support in both life and design.Throughout my journey, I’ve had the chance to hone my communication and leadership skills, not just in retail and church, but also during my master's program. I strongly believe in the importance of process and progress, which is why my portfolio reflects my entire design journey—from early projects to current works.
