I have many years of experience working with children and adults with disabilities, and their families. I understand the impact of disability on both the person and their family, and the long term effects and secondary conditions that develop. Although my background is in occupational therapy, I have developed, coordinated, and managed services/programs for persons of all ages including neonatal, early intervention, preschool, school aged, and adult. My specialities include pediatrics, adults with developmental disabilities, and the severely multi-handicapped. I assisted with statewide training of case managers and service providers for Early Intervention in the State of Alabama in order to help develop family-centered care, and have provided training and consultation for staff at every level, patients, and their caregivers. I have worked in many settings including clinics, high risk and neonatal nurseries, centers, day programs, schools, and homes. Because of my many experiences, I am very flexible and believe that all people deserve to live the best quality of life available to them. I enjoy using my skills to improve the lives of persons with disabilities, and helping their families and caregivers with their care.
