Instructor
CurrentI have the pleasure of teaching what I love. In 1996, I created and piloted a new program called "Digital Media" and eventually applied for and received DOE approval to create a new CIP code. In the shuffle of consolidating framework efforts, Digital Media competencies were adopted into Design and Visual Communications. I had a vision of the convergence of Graphic Design-Video-Web disciplines. It has proven to be a successful combination of disciplines that serve a variety of business' needs. Although my first love is print graphic design, I see a future of expansive applications for art in the digital realm.I teach various subjects within the DVC program, including: branding, concept development, logo design, typography, photography, studio portrait photography, promotion, graphic design and layout, color theory, entrepreneurship and marketing and video production and editing from a promotional perspective. My teaching partner has grown the video portion of the program into podcasting, broadcasting and streaming technology. Our program has been featured in several publications as well as featured on WBZ's Chronicle for the work we did with New Balance. We will soon be adding UX/UI design and animation.
