With over 25 years experience in Remedial Massage and Bowen Therapy and subsequent training in Oncology Massage, Lymphoedema Management and Dementia Care I had started to get curly questions from other therapists. 'My client has swelling, will Bowen help?' 'Can I massage my client who has had breast cancer?' and so on. Taking on a leadership role with Oncology Massage training was life changing as I connected with therapists across Australia and overseas and training Oncology Massage Therapists was one of the highlights of my career so far, however those curly questions still arose from therapists not wishing to go down the road of becoming an Oncology Massage or Lymphoedema Therapist but needing to know how to work safely with their vulnerable or ageing clients. Heart of Bowen & Touch Therapies was created to fill this need in training for therapists. My approach to massage has always been a patient centred one and the ability to bring my whole heart to everything I do is paramount. This has become the cornerstone of what I now teach. Online training is not something I thought I would ever do but as I write this, having only launched the course a few weeks ago, I couldn't be happier! I have already connected with therapists from all over Australia, therapists in regional centres who I never would have been able to take the course to. When one of the participants on my weekly Zoom meeting said last week, 'I didn't want to press complete as I didn't want it to be over' my heart sang at the thought that my work had so profoundly touched someone.
