As part of the Mono Lake restoration plan, I developed, and since 2002, have been conducting a long-term waterfowl monitoring program at Mono Lake involving ground and aerial surveys.I have established and am conducting other avian monitoring programs as components of habitat restoration and mitigation projects undertaken by LADWP including those associated with the Lower Owens River Project. I conduct focused protocol-level surveys for Yellow-billed Cuckoo and Southwestern Willow Flycatcher.At Owens Lake I established seasonal lakewide avian surveys of the Dust Control Project in order to document use of the project area. I assisted in the development and refinement of habitat models for waterbirds at Owens Lake and provide guidance for habitat management. I also conduct Snowy Plover population surveys, nest searching and monitoring.I participate in annual Greater Sage Grouse lek monitoring, conservation planning, and work to address sage-grouse conservation issues on LADWP land.I have developed and conduct acoustical bat inventory and monitoring projects.I established a long-term rangeland monitoring program for LADWP.I am involved in cooperative programs with federal, state, and local agencies and special interest groups working to improve the management and protection of watershed resources on City of Los Angeles-owned property in the Eastern Sierra.I provide technical guidance and assistance in the preparation of land management plans, restoration plans, habitat enhancement plans, environmental impact reports and other biological reports.
