As a Principal in RSM's Washington National Tax office specializing in all aspects of excise tax and clean energy tax credits, I am a nationally recognized expert with over 20 years of government and private sector experience. I advise clients in the transportation, energy, industrial products, and consumer products industries.I am the leader of RSM’s tax sustainability and energy credit practice. I specialize in tax credits in the Inflation Reduction Act with a focus on clean fuels. I also advise on credits for renewable resources such as wind, solar, combined heat and power cogeneration and geothermal as well as carbon capture and sequestration and electric vehicles. My advisory services include tax consulting and assistance with Internal Revenue Service controversies. I have expertise in a complete range of excise taxes, including manufacturers taxes (e.g., petroleum products and motor fuel; tires; sporting goods; firearms; ammunition), retail taxes (e.g., alternative fuels; heavy trucks and trailers) and environmental taxes (Superfund, ozone-depeleting chemicals, and oil spill) as well as the excise taxes administered by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau.
