Since September 2014 Deborah Killam has been a paralegal with the immigration law group at Watson Goepel LLP. Deborah has specialized in immigration law since 2000 following studies at the University of British Columbia and Capilano University. During her career she has travelled extensively to meet with clients abroad, to host immigration information seminars for prospective immigrants and to perform strategic market research in Hong Kong, the Philippines, Vietnam and Iran.She has worked closely with international construction and engineering companies to assist with the movement of foreign workers from many different countries to British Columbia and Alberta in order to satisfy skilled labour shortages in those Provinces.She has handled FTA processes including obtaining Canadian work permits for CUSMA, CETA and other professionals.She has also actively participated in high volume immigration projects between Mexico and Canada in which she has been directly involved in the recruitment process on behalf of the Canadian employer(s) and managed the visa processing for their temporary employees to secure future permanent immigration.Deborah is an integral part of Watson Goepel's immigration practice assisting with a variety of applications for temporary and permanent residence made under provincial and federal programs including both business and economic categories.
