Deborah was a gas liquids commodities hedging expert for 23 years, including 10 years as a Resident Manager for two Merrill Lynch Futures Resource Centers.Fifteen years ago Deborah resumed her talents as a Fine Arts Professional. She organized and facilitated a co-op gallery at the Soulard Fine Arts Building in St. Louis, Missouri and had a studio in the building from 2002-2004. She studied pastel and watercolor techniques and 3-dimensional abstract fiber art. In 2002 Deborah displayed work in three group co-op shows and had a solo show entitled Tropical Currents reflecting her travels to the Florida Keys between 2000-2003.Longing for a more intimate relationship with nature, in 2003 Deborah established a second studio in the countryside near St. Louis. Plein Air Watercolor became her study depicting the simplicity of light, reflections and colors in nature. Daily walks and meditations allowed her art to become more intuitive and expressive through abstract drawing, painting and sculpture. In 2004 Deborah moved to Naples, Florida where she studied encaustic painting. A solo show of her encaustic paintings were displayed at the New Melles Tea Room in 2008. The show represented two years of landscape and floral paintings echoing sketches made while travelling from Florida, to Missouri and to Vermont. In 2009 Deborah's worked was juried and accepted into the Art Galleries at the Promenade by the Center for the Arts of Bonita Springs. She painted, sculpted and sold her work there until 2013.Deborah's art has been selected in 24 juried shows at Florida West Coast Art Galley, Southwest Florida Art Co-op Gallery, and the Center for the Arts of Bonita Springs(CFABS). She taught encaustic workshops at CFABS from 2010 - 2013. She is currently exploring the effects of rusts on paper and fabric.When Deborah arrived in Naples, she became a USPTA certified tennis coordinator and recreational coach and continues to facilitate and coach tennis.
