I am an enthusiastic designer and instructor, and I aim to make my classes engaging and relevant. I am intentional about designing courses that are user friendly, accessible, trauma-informed, and inclusive. I enjoy collaborating with faculty, administration, and IT about design, pedagogy, and best practices, and I love creating innovative solutions. I am the program lead for the OSCQR process at Edmonds College, and I have led over 60 course reviews in 18 months. These reviews are a collaborative process that refreshes courses to meet accessibility regulations, RSI (Regular and Substantive Interaction) guidelines, trauma-informed teaching best practices, and diversity/equity/inclusion/belonging best practices. I co-chaired the first TEDx Edmonds College event in October 2024 titled Rethinking Resilience. The event featured 16 inspirational speakers who had innovative ideas and a demonstrated commitment to collective action. As co-chair, I organized speaker applications, application rubrics, speaker submissions, speaker communications, and on-campus teams. This 2-year project involved leading cross-functional teams, project management, public speaking, and marketing. I collaborated with the VP of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to create the required, campus-wide DEI training that supports Washington State House Bill 5227: Diversity in Higher Education. I continue to update my instructional design skills and accessibility skills to be WCAG compliant, and I help faculty and staff make their materials accessible and user friendly. I continue to work as an Instructional Design mentor through Penn State's ID2ID program.
