Teamwork and leadership is central to the development of a Restorative culture which is our organisational mission for Cornwall. At the end of 2016 our Board of Directors recognised that the Restorative model will achieve most impact through being taught to children and young people as part of their education. Accordingly RJ Working moved from the field of criminal justice and anti-social behaviour to proactively supporting the development of school communities. Cornwall holds the potential for a whole system approach, from Primary School through Secondary , Further Education, Apprenticeships and Higher Education.

I am researching the development of restorative justice

Developing restorative justice from a community perspective: promoting dialogue and recovery from harm caused by crime or antisocial behaviour. We want everyone to have access to the opportunity for recovery from harm through communication. We are thrilled that our Local Police & Crime Commissioner, Tony Hogg, has awarded RJ Working a grant to enable us to bring University of Ulster trainers to Devon and Cornwall to enable cross-sectoral training in the 'balanced model' of restorative justice (meeting the needs of victim, offender and community). This will take place in February 2014.

Ongoing fantastic learning as part of a very experienced and knowledgeable team. Family Group Conferencing genuinely empowers families to make their own decisions and plans, through activating the extended family network and the 'important people' for the child or children.

Vodafone have sponsored me through their World of Difference scheme to research the view of victims of crime as to what would be a 'victim-oriented' restorative justice.

A Probation Officer from 1986, and formerly Senior Probation Officer in Inner London from 1993, the Prison Service Drug Strategy Unit, and Plymouth. From 2001 to 2010 Senior Probation Officer in Cornwall, working for Crown and Magistrates Courts, West Cornwall communities including MAPPA Chair and latterly leading the multidisciplinary team for Prolific and Priority Offenders (PPO scheme) for the whole of Cornwall.
