I have been helping students and their families navigate the college process for over 20 years. I started my career as a NY/NJ certified school counselor and guidance department chairperson in public schools and began working as an Independent Educational Consultant (IEC) in 2002, establishing my own business, Personal Best College Coaching, which has grown to now include 6 IECs plus additional support staff. We work with both high school and transfer students in the college admissions process, focusing on helping each student discover their “personal best.” Since 2008, I have been the Transfer Admissions Advisor (TAA) for the Kaplan Educational Foundation, which oversees the Kaplan Leadership Program (KLP), guiding and mentoring community college transfer students through the complex upward transfer admissions process. As the TAA for the KLP, I am a staunch advocate for all KLP Scholars in the community and at the 4-year colleges! I firmly believe that access and opportunities should be available to all! I love serving as the supporter, organizer, myth-buster, family peacemaker and fact-checker for high school students, transfer students, non-traditional students, and the occasional graduate school applicant as they go through the journey of self-discovery and personal growth.
