Am a registered nurse with an MPH (epidemiology and biostatics), a certificate in field epidemiology from AFNET, a BSc in nursing with specialty in community health nursing and a diploma in clinical nursing. As an active registered nurse under the General Nursing Council of Zambia, I have keen interest in public health activities and research to improve the health of vulnerable people (Children and women) in underserved communities. As a result, I have undertaken several trainings that equipped me with sound knowledge of epidemiology and disease intelligence, medical laboratory investigation, planning and coordination including budgeting, and emergency preparedness and response skills with a commendable performance in resolving public health and laboratory quality issues. With more than 10 years’ experience working actively in rural and urban communities, successfully participated as a rapid responder in Covid-19 outbreak response activities up to the declaration of close of the outbreak. Supported mentorship of 10 provinces and districts in formulation of rapid response management teams for enable well-coordinated outbreak response activities. I have participated in planning, coordination and implementation of research projects for better community health policy interventions and decision-making at the highest level. As a national consultant on the polio outbreak response in the country, I supported and provided technical expertise in coordinating and planning polio outbreak response activities including supplementary immunization activities (SIAs) and surveillance enhancement that interrupted polio virus transmission. this far I have participated in more than 11 SIAs and data is available at the EPI and Ministry of health. This has also improved AFP surveillance activities after some years of underperformance in the activities. I lead a research team that initially analyzed the country’s Acute Flaccid paralysis (AFP) surveillance performance indicators for the past seven years to understand the possible gaps for actions. I have also conducted polio and measles risk assessments and supported developed tailored action plans for surveillance improvements. I also collaborated with GPEI partners for expanded program on immunization (EPI) reviews, surveillance assessments, provincial and district trainings, and multi-agency outbreak response assessments (OBRAs) activities. Am a peer reviewer of PLOS ONE, published in peer reviewed journals and a member of several scientific committees at the Zambia National Public Health Institute (ZNPHI).

Ensure that Polio and adverse event following immunisation (AEFI) surveillance are enhanced, sensitive and of sufficient quality to detect any polio cases or adverse events following immunisation. Conduct risk assessments, develop tailored action plans for improvement of surveillance to ensure no silent transmissions are occurring. Train and provide onsite technical supervisory support to subnational levels on polio and vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) surveillance.
