Deborah Vessel Thompson, born in Corpus Christi, Texas, began receiving art awards as a child, and has continued her art experience and education since then. With a background of fouryears studying basic fundamentals, drawing, painting art history and appreciation, * Deborah began her portraiture business and gained recognition with her peers as a highly talented artist immediately.    Deborah began concentrating on portraiture through various drawing, oilpainting, and pastel portrait classes under highly skilled teachers ofthe " Old Masters " tradition. She has studied under John Howard Sanden,N.A., founder of Portraits , Inc. in New York, and teacher-lecturer atthe Art Students League. She has studied under Daniel E. Greene, A.N.A.,currently noted as the leading pastelist in the world. The study of photography,wildlife, and commercial art have enhanced her artistic career as well. Having been a resident of San Diego county for over 20 years, Deborah has displayed in local art shows and has given one-man showings both locally and nationwide. She has been associated with art guilds including the San Diego Art Institute, the La Jolla Art League Association, and Portraits, Inc. of New York. Entering into national and international competition, she has participated in The San Diego Wildlife Show, The Allied Artist's of America's Annual exhibition at the National Arts Club in New York City, and in the Pastel Society of America's Annual Exhibition  World competition at the National Arts Club, receiving the TRUMP Purchase Award.  While studying the Equine in athletic performance and exhibition, Deborah has relocated in Oregon to raise, train, and show her Appaloosa, Paint and Pinto horses. Recently, the Artist has been displaying her artwork at local, National, and World Horse Shows, participating in Sponsorship in the APHA World Show in Fort Worth TX. annually, and and APtHA world show in Oklahoma.
