Summer Youth Corps Leader
This a residential program between June 2022 - August 2022. I started in May 2022 for online training. As a crew leader, managed youth (15-18-year-olds), on a crew, that worked in MN State Parks for conservation work. The conservation work I, my co-lead, and my crew did, were trail maintenance, Introduce Species Removal, Trail construction, and swamping. The tools I used were, Mcleod, loppers, manual weed whips, silky saws, hand saws, pole saws, pulaski (fireman's axe), pick mattock, electric hand saw/table saw, and axe mattock. I was at the state parks/project sites at our Afton State Park, Itasca State Park, Three Rivers Parks (Carver Park), St. Croix State Park, and Gooseberry State Park. I and my co-lead managed our crew 24/7. ensured our safety, meals were cooked/made, education activities, cleaning, Saturday activities, and free time. I managed with my co-lead any behavioral issues using behavior contracts or Incident reports, to insure professional etiquette was being followed by the youth. Also used that, and VOEMP (Vent, Own, Empathy, and Plan), to solve any conflicts our crew was having. I also budgeted our budget for every week. With our food budget and any other camping supplies, we need, like ice or wood. Every month, I submitted financial forms for Concur, to submit every transaction with a receipt and why I made that transaction. After every work day, did the SAW form, so we could keep track we did for work every day. I obtained a Wilderness First aid, and Mental Health Youth First Aid Traning. Completed defensive driving training, to safely drive a 12-person van. Educational activities I led were personal pronouns, Queer Culture, Tool Usage, History about Native Americans and the land, Burn your fears and Communication Challenge.
Guest Advocate
I work front end, making sure Guests' expectations when they enter and leave the store. My duties vary day to day, but making sure Guests' expectations are exceeded, is my goal every day. My other duties are service desk (during returns, and helping Guests with any questions or issues they have). Cashiering, where I check out the guest, make sure their shopping trip was good, and found everything they need. Also, to show them ways to save money through target circle and red card. Self-Checkout, is making sure everything goes smoothly, helps guests if the self-checkout needs problem-solving, or needs helping ringing up produce. Also, make sure to help target and AP, by making sure everything is getting scanned. Drive-Up, is getting together are guest orders that are already labeled and bag altogether when they arrive to bring it out to them as quick as possible, under two minutes is our goal. Last, is cart cleaning, which is when carts are brought in by our cart attendant, is cleaning them with a sanitizer, to protect our guests during the pandemic, and also moving them in rows near the door to make it easier to grab. When my Team lead or ETL need a break or just need help watching the lanes/helping guest, I do that occasionally. All these different duties in the front end, help ensure exceeding Guests' expectations.
