I have practiced in the area of financial re-structuring and bankruptcy for over 30 years, representing debtors, lenders and committees. Also, in today's world, every transaction, every settlement of litigation and every purchase of significant assets needs to consider the possibility that there may be a bankruptcy in the future. As a result, I also frequently advise clients on ways to address such counter-party risks. I enjoy the strategy involved in representing clients in the acquisition of assets out of a bankruptcy. I have also served as a plan mediator. I chair the Cox Smith Bankruptcy Department and, effective January 1, 2014, became the Managing Director of Cox Smith. However, after our May 1, 2015 merger with Dykema Gossett, I returned to the full time practice of bankruptcy and restructuring while also serving on the Dykema Executive Committee
