Well it seems I've been sort of "demoted"! After Mick having 5 months off for his broken leg, we had to make some tough decisions about how we took the business forward. We therefore made a decision that from the end of March, the limited company (for which my status was Director!) would cease trading. However, the business goes on...and boy is it going on...we can't believe how busy we are all of a sudden. We are still diamond drilling to the trades, but now we are doing it with Mick as a Sole Trader (and me now Office Manger!). Please be assured, we can still meet the requirements of all job sizes, as we have lined up a great set of skilled, qualified sub-contractors to use when needed.

With my Quality & Patient Safety "hat" on, I have responsibility for upkeep of IG Toolkit and ensuring CQC compliance for quality purposes across a number of services including Non-obstetric Ultrasound, No Scalpel Vasectomy, Hand Surgery, Anti-coag Service, Domiciliary Phlebotomy Service, Lansdowne Road Surgery.Now, with my additional Interim Operational Lead "hat" on, I am also responsible for management of a team of administrators working across all services as well as delivery of an reporting on them.With Horizon Health Choices Ltd growing all the time, there is always a challenge in my job...but wouldn't life be dull if there wasn't??!! I love it!

Circle is the prime contractor in this commissioned model of healthcare in Bedfordshire. From April 2015 they took direct operational control over from Horizon Health and all staff were transferred via TUPE to Circle. Circle very kindly offered me the opportunity to reduce my working days/hours which was something I had always planned on doing. I worked with the management team to develop my new role which involves managing and responding to complaints (which thankfully there are very few of!), producing and managing exception reporting, and collating information on patient feedback. I also still help the team out now and then if needed.

Senior Manager responsible for a team of c.18 members of an administration team, providing support in arranging clinical services including: Musculoskeletal (MSK), Non-Obstetric Ultrasound (NOUS), No Scalpel Vasectomy (NSV), Ear Nose & Throat (ENT), Warfarin and MRI. The team processes in excess of 40,000 referrals for musculoskeletal issues annually through a system newly implemented in April 2014.

Initially employed as PA to Head of Partnership Commissioning and then as the Project Manager for Personal Health Budgets. From this I became the System Redesign Coordinator for Planned Care, working across a number of conditions. From November 2013 I took over project management of the new Musculoskeletal service for Bedfordshire; responsible for the completion of the Bedfordshire MSK contract, I also project managed the implementation and ongoing review of the Bedfordshire Chronic Fatigue Service, and most recently I am developing a Business Case and Service Specification to allow BCCG to purchase appropriate beds for patients with an Acquired Brain Injury under an Any Qualified Provider zero-value contract. I am also now mapping and pulling together details of discharge, rehabilitation and reablement services throughout Bedfordshire with a view to reviewing the model in respect of the ongoing work around the Better Care Fund.I work to the Bedfordshire adaptation of Prince2 methodology around Project Management and have qualified at Prince2 Foundation level.Through my roles as a project manager and redesign coordinator I have gained experience in stakeholder engagement, organisation and facilitation of events, writing of Project Plans, Business Cases, Service Specifications, Risk Registers and Stakeholder Matrices, pathway mapping exercises and other areas associated with health linking to Social Care in most instances.I have experience of working directly with clinicians in the community and in an acute setting. I also have experience of working directly with patients in the form of support planning through my work on Personal Health Budgets. I have contacts within both the local authorities (Bedfordshire) and third sector providers, all of whom are key in putting together any comprehensive service that should be focussed around the health and wellbeing of the patient in the first instance.
