I have always been an animal lover. Growing up with horses, dogs, cats, and rabbits, it was apparent that the furry members of my family are so very important to me. After raising my family, I am finally following my dreams to be a veterinarian technician. I am enrolled at Penn Foster and am currently working for an amazing veterinarian hospital and hope to complete my practicum to get my certification and enjoy my career with this team. Once that is behind me, I hope to expand into other areas of the veterinarian field as opportunities arise. I have had hands on training to restrain small and large animals. This includes fractious animals.I have excellent computer skills. I am comfortable with Chameleon, Avimark, Word, Excel, and Publisher, and am not intimidated by any computer challenge put before me. I am a very organized and detail oriented person who seeks to always further those around me. A team that excels has to have every part working in their strengths and feeling valuable in what they do, no matter how big or how small their "job" is. They should feel fulfilled in doing their part as a team and be recognized for it. Every effort I make is completed, or I am not satisfied. I'm a person who loves a challenge and is continually striving for more success and the next level to achieve. I am a hard worker with a strong work ethic. I believe that a person should do the job asked of them, and then some. I give 110% of myself to my job and expect my coworkers to do the same. There is always another level to reach for, in every area of your life, and that is what I'm striving for, my next level.

I work hard daily to make their lives enjoyable while they are at our shelter and under my care, but look forward to the day when I see them walk out the front door with their new family. There are so many great animals waiting to be adopted. I get the benefit of caring for them, and training them in basic commands as well. It's very fulfilling work and I enjoy going to work each morning. It warms my heart to see an empty kennel or cage after being off for two days. Knowing that those have found a home while I was gone. One of them even had to come home with me. He's been a joy, a great addition to our family.I'm excited to do what I can each and everyday to say that I've made a difference, somehow. In the life of an animal, or in the life of a client who has come in to find their forever friend. There is no work in the world like this. Show less

Pet Care And Sales AssociateGilded Guppy Jan 1989 - Dec 1995I tended to the needs of all the animals in our shop on a daily basis. WaitressVictoria'S Ice Creamery Feb 1985 - Oct 1989I was a full time waitress and also did food preparation for daily service. We were also a shop that made it's own ice cream, so I have some experience in that area too. Tending to customers and their needs were my top priority, and I had many returning customers that continually asked to be seated in my station. It was a rewarding job in more ways than one. Being able to make their dining experience a great one was always the top of my list.
