About Deborah Barnett

My current work is in online education and pedagogy. I have both taught online and developed online programs. I enjoy building programs from the ground up and developing systems to support faculty and students. My research interest are in (i) building institutional support models for online teaching and development of digital competencies, (ii) use of collaborative and cooperative learning pedagogies in online STEM lab science curriculum and (iii) the effects of class size and instructional methodology on student connectedness, satisfaction and learning in online environments.My research background is in epigenetics and prenatal programming where I have interests in (i) physiology/epidemiology of gestational weight gain in humans, (ii) prenatal programming of metabolic and reproductive disorders and the stress axis, (iii) neuroendocrine regulation of reproductive behavior and fertility
