My professional experience in healthcare began at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. I helped design the first silent auction to benefit medical student activities, earning significant funds to assist such groups as NU-AID--a student- driven group that travels to underserved countries in need of medical aid. Additionally, I worked alongside the medical school alumni on the scholarship committee to raise funds that would help offset the rising cost of a medical education. I managed the phone-a-thon to raise general funds for the medical school to be used at the discretion of the Dean and the annual fundraising for departmental general funds.After leaving Northwestern, I started working for HIMSS with the Business Development team. Assisting with the trade show booth selection process, managing sponsorship deliverables, etc. Recently, I changed roles at HIMSS and started working in the Corporate Relations Department. Working directly with our Coprorate Members to ensure that they find value and ease of use with their corporate benefits. Additionally, I manage the Health IT Venture Fair. Working directly with our "in collaboration with" sponsors who have been with the event since its inception. The goal of this event is to connect start-up companies with venture capitalists. Many start-up company presenters have received funding because of our event and learned how to build their business by experts in the field during the morning session "How to Build Your Health IT Buiness".
