CurrentResponsible for maintaining up to date insurance information and authorizations for current patients.Ensuring coverage for ongoing treatments with current knowledge of authorizations including benefit plans, contract terms and rates and billing forms and codes.Re-verify insurance coverage for existing patients. Check status of authorizations through use of telephone, websites and/or other means available.Work directly with the insurance companies, along with other departments within the organization. Research and follow up on authorization denials. Scan and upload documents from insurance providers into electronic records system and notify appropriate departments. Works daily reports to ensure all-payer specific billing requirements and authorization requirements are met.Counsel the patient regarding their financial obligation, insurance benefits and appropriately communicate the patient liability. Act as a liaison for the patient, physician office, care management team, community agencies and the Revenue Service Center.Collects amounts owed for medical services including contacting the patient to secure payment.
