Hi there! I’m Debbie, and my career has taken me on an exciting journey through governance, risk, and compliance (GRC). I’ve spent years honing my skills in customer service, social media management and public relations, but what truly drives me is the opportunity to blend these experiences with the critical aspects of GRC.During my time as Social Media and PR Manager at Primemall Entertainment Center, I learned just how important it is to protect our customers’ information while building meaningful connections with them. I found joy in creating engaging campaigns, but I always made sure that our strategies respected data protection laws. It’s about finding that balance between creativity and responsibility, and I loved every minute of it.As a Data Governance and Compliance Officer, I take my commitment to safeguarding data a step further. I focus on crafting and enforcing policies that not only keep us compliant but also reflects our values as a company. Conducting audits and implementing Data Protection Impact Assessments is part of my routine, and I find satisfaction in ensuring we do things the right way.Now, I’m looking to dive deeper into the GRC field. I’m excited about roles that allow me to explore risk management and compliance initiatives while integrating sustainable practices. Climate change is something I care deeply about, and I believe businesses can make a real difference in addressing this issue. I want to be part of a team that not only meets compliance standards but also embraces ethical practices and a commitment to our planet.
