Led an exciting new strategic initiative at the Institute focussed on building capacity for health care transformation and quality leadership in Ontario. Lessons learned from knowledge exchange sessions were used to inform Ontario's IDEAS Strategy (Improving and Driving Excellence Across Sectors). This was an interesting assignment working with the Commission at the end of the 3 year mandate. Areas of policy work included: defining the scope of provincial child welfare services, governance development in the CAS sector and system accountability. Transferred knowledge and lessons learned in health care performance measurement and system accountability.

Advanced a number of strategic initiatives with the senior team including: a benchmarking analysis of provincial quality improvement plans, preparing the board for accreditation, initiating a patient and family-centred care strategy, and working with the Chief of Staff to develop a business case to expand the Prolonged Ventilation Weaning Centre as a system-wide initiative to decant ICU patients in other locations.

Working with physician leaders in the Department of Medicine at WCH to support stakeholder engagement in the development of plans for a new longitudinal complex chronic care clinic which also incorporates interprofessional care and ambulatory clinic experience for internal medicine residents at the University of Toronto.

This was a start-up initiative to build the capacity of the community support services sector within the Central Local Health Integration Network (North York, York Region, and South Simcoe) to facilitate integration and expansion through the Aging at Home Strategy. There were 34 member organizations and I reported to a Governance Committee elected by the membership.

As the first chief executive and reporting to the Board, responsible for the successful leadership and management of this multi-service organization including strategic vision and direction. A strong focus on service development and leading practices positioned the organization for significant growth and a reputation for being responsive to the changing needs of the seniors' population in an evolving health care system.
