Project Lead for the GIS/Data Management group providing services to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In this position I developed mobile applications using ArcPad Application Builder and the Trimble GeoXT GPS units for use in field sampling and data collection events. I also provided computer mapping and data analysis support using ArcGIS, ArcIMS, ArcSDE/Oracle, Access, ERDAS Imagine, and various other software programs. VBA in Access was utilized to import Chain of Custody information, reformat laboratory data, and print Certificates of Analysis. I administered the Oracle database and created reports using Crystal Reports for the ELEMENT Laboratory Information Management System. I also created high quality graphics and maps for use at meetings and conferences, wrote metadata, SOP’s and user documentation for layers and applications generated, and conducted on-site XRF analyses and real-time GIS mapping for decision making in the field.

As the GIS Director at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal, I supervised three GIS specialists and one AutoCAD technician. The group created maps and analyzed data for environmental cleanup using the Arc/Info GIS system, AML, ArcView, Earth Vision, Ingres and SQL. Duties included; assisting toxicologists and biologists with data analysis using the Arc Macro Language and GRID to predict areas of risk within known animal home ranges, creating 3-dimensional models on Dynamic Graphic’s Earth Vision software to determine the nature and extent of subsurface soil contamination and groundwater contamination plumes, and creating maps for public meetings and court documents.

Utilized the Arc/Info GIS system to create maps for use in environmental assessment work at the Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site, Golden, Colorado.Designed database applications to simplify analyses of environmental data using Paradox.

-Utilized PC Arc/Info and in-house remote sensing and geophysics software to compile and analyze Western U.S. datasets, generating targets for mineral exploration.-Supervised two data processors. Utilized the Paradox and Dbase databases as well as AutoCad to produce maps at various scales and projections.-Interpreted Landsat images resulting in exploration targeting and follow-up field work.-Processed drill data, managed a large drill hole database and assisted with ore reserve estimation. -Generated drill hole collar location maps, cross sections and bench plan maps for ore reserve estimation.-Sampled and logged drill cuttings, reclaimed drill roads, collected soil and stream sediment samples, staked claims, surveyed, and conducted geophysical gravity, VLF and ground magnetics surveys.
