I became an accidental landlord many years ago when I moved in with my now husband. Not having a huge savings pot, it became clear to me that property was one of the best ways to develop long-term wealth which would look after us in later years. I also realised that using our own money only wouldn’t build the portfolio I wanted to create and I now work with investors wanting to make money from property without the hassle associated with becoming a landlord. South Wales is an excellent area for property investment, densely populated with a high proportion of people in rental accommodation. Valleys towns have their own communities, but also act as commutable bases for the three major cities of Cardiff, Newport and Swansea.I'm also a freelance marketer/administrator with a small number of regular clients whose work I fit around property investing. Having had a varied career spanning the arts and hospitality in South Africa and around the UK, I ran my own design agency for four years. Combining my interests, I'm the Office Administrator and a Trustee for Plas Gunter Mansion, an historically important, but sadly neglected 17th century building in Abergavenny town centre.
