I provide editorial and managerial support when needed which can include the final proofing of copy for print and web. This allows me to pursue my writing career outside glow whilst retaining an interest in the company.

Founder, shareholder of glow, led an in-house graphic design team plus freelancers and project managed all websites. Handled HR and IT and developed The Green Corner www.inthegreencorner.com. Helped build glow from a small marketing company to a full design and communications company with three other director/shareholders.

Implemented, designed and managed a new website and intranet and provided SEO as required. Researched new technology and applications to enhance company performance on the web. Acted as IT Manager for a time.

Wrote two monthly columns one, for an online part of AOL, called "Letters from Britain" and one for an American catlovers' magazine - column known as Canine Corner - written, ostensibly, by my loveable lurcher. Also judged essays and critiqued work for an online writers club and held weekly virtual meetings.Developed websites to display work and won awards for website building (old hat now!)

Wrote and had published, short stories for womens' magazines and wrote several books which have yet to be published though have had good reviews. Produced articles and reports for various magazines and companies. Helped my husband set up Gravatom Engineering Systems Ltd.

Working in Stratford, London - managed the budgets for the faculty, student grants and book keeping. During the time of the IRA bombings and tube mayhem - many a freezing two hour wait on the platform while trains delayed due to real or fake bomb scares. Learnt first hand how Local Government strikes can affect workers - my hen night booze was locked in office safe overnight but couldn't cross the picket line to get at it - alternative arrangements hastily made! Happy days!

Worked for the Civil Service, recruiting for local firms, interviewing employers and potential employees. Trained in interviewing techniques and HR at Tottenham Court Road, London and involved in the piloting of the first computer aided job search scheme. C.A.P.I.T.A.L (Computer Assisted Placement in the Area of London - I think...) and assisted with the set up of and worked in the first Job Centres in the Dagenham area. Also visited local businesses to assess how they worked and their staffing requirements - tramped through muddy fields and noisy factories, learnt a lot about industrial and construction terms and requirements, shuttering, brick laying, lathe turning, arc welding and the like!
